Field Marshal Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel... one of the greatest strategic minds of World War II. He had a special knack for desert warfare, where he earned not only his trademark nickname, but the respect of his allies and enemies alike.
I'm really surprised this hasn't been made a Daily Deviation yet, because it totally deserves it. Erwin Rommel is arguably my favourite historical figure, and this picture definitely does the man justice. Lovely work, I love the detail!
In my area there are many veterans who fought against the Afrika Korps at Tobruk an Tunisia. The amazing thing is that all of them respect Rommel as a soldier, and more importantly, as a gentleman in a time of bloody brutal war.

I'm unsure as to where I could start and explain my love in the detail you have used. ♥ I really love Rommel, and have done numerous papers for school describing this man. I think you captured his person perfectly, and had done him well.
He won the respect of his enemies and allies, brilliant tactician (as that's been mentioned numerous times, but I love his methods of tactics). Hm.
I really love the depth of detail you put in all of your portraits. I love how you did Rommel's nose, eyes, and the detail of his uniform the most, though.
