Its a midwest BoS they had access to weapons including the mg-42 and this armor came out before fallout 3 altogether

The armor resembles Enclave power armor mark I, but since i havent played either fallout 1 or 2, im very wrong about that

And btw, is that a MG42 he has? Good german tech if you catch my meaning.

the Armour is from fallout tactics. this is the result of the brotherhood reverse engineering enclave technology. and considering the mid west brotherhood of steel having technology that would be on par with the enclave and living near Chicago city (as it is rumored to have facilities to create power Armour) they can build more better tech.
